11/22/15 - Steven Wallace, 58, a quick wit with a deep passion for American roots music, at his East Falmouth home after struggling with throat cancer. Steven is the cousin to Wink Houghton and Pat Prescott.

9/10/15 - Donald Souchek, 88, died at Maine Medical. There will be a funeral service at the Chebeague Church on Saturday, September 19th at 1pm followed by a reception at the Parish House. Don and Joyce celebated their 65th anniversary on Wedenesday.
9/5/15 - Congratulations to Toby Lunt and Valerie Stull were married in a private ceremony on Chebeague by Rev. Barrie Shepherd and were joined by their families and a few close friends for a Quaker style celebration of their love and marriage at the Lunt Cottage. The newlyweds depart in mid-September for Fulbright projects in Zambia and Ethiopia."
8/29/15 - Congratulations to Kathryn Livesey and Scott Earnest were married at the East End of Chebeague. They were joined by loads of family from as close as Chebeague and as far as Australia and New Zealand. They will be living and working in Lodi, Wisconsin. We wish them well!

7/7/15 - Janet Ruth Hall Appleton, 79, of Lynnwood, Washington, died after a long illness. Janet is the sister of Merrill Hall of Cousins Island, aunt of S.M. Hall of Windham, Jim Hall of Manchester Center, VT, Charles Hall and May Hall of Chebeague Island, and Thomas Hall of Old Orchard Beach. She is survived by her husband, William, and children Billy, Jane, David, and Katharine.

3/29/15 - Leon Hamilton, 67, died peacefully in his winter home on Pine Island, Florida, after a long, and fierce battle with lung cancer. There will be visiting hours for Leon at Lindquist Funeral Home in Yarmouth on Friday, April 17th from 4-6 pm.

10/23/14 - Born to Hoyt D. Morgan and his wife, Elizabeth, a son, Hunter Dodge Crowley Morgan. He weighed 6 lbs, 11 oz. and was 21 inches long. Tall and slim! He is the grandson of Manny Morgan.
10/19/14 - Sidney Harvey Phillips Morse, 89, passed away peacefully in the early morning surrounded by devoted family members at her home in Darien, Connecticut. Funeral Services will be in Darien, November 7th.
10/18/14 - Congratulations to Jennifer Tonks and Timothy Webber who were married Portland Yacht Club on Falmouth Foreside. Jenn is the daughter of Rick & Cis Tonks of Cumberland and Chebeague; and Tim is the son of Gary and Laurel Webber of Gorham. Jenn is an RN at CMMC in Lewiston; and Tim is a Physical Therapist at Riverview Physical Therapy in Westbrook. After a trip to Costa Rica’s beaches and rain forest, they reside at their new home in Cumberland with their rescue puppy, Penny.

9/26/14 - Wayne Sweller, 71 died after 18 years of fighting prostate cancer. He is the husband of Wendy Colbeth Swellerand leaves behind 15 grandchildren!

9/26/14 - John Rumsey Barrows III, 65 died at home with his family in Falmouth.
9/25/14 - Stephen S. Buczynski, 89, of Marco Island, Florida died after several months of illness. Stephen was the beloved father of Wanda Buczynski, and father-in-law of David Keyes of Chebeague Island. A celebration of Stephen's life will be held in the spring in his hometown of Franklin, N.H. He visited Chebeague a number of times, and greatly enjoyed the community. His humor and loving attention will be greatly missed.
9-25-14 - Henry James Hartford, 11 months old, died unexpectedly at Maine Medical Center. Henry is the son of Graham and Lindsay Hartford, and the grandson of Richard and Teresa Hartford and Richard and Lorraine Robinson. Visiting hours from 4-6 September 30 - Celebration of Life October 1, 12pm at United Church of Christ Congregational, Bath.
9/13/14 - Ruth E. Kimball, 72, of South Portland died on Saturday. Ruth is the mother of Jeff Kimball and grandmother of Cassidy Jeffers. Other island relatives and friends include Andrew Jackson, May Hall, Bea Crossman, and Ester Knight. She will be missed.

02/17/14 - Jeanne Vonderschmidt passed away peacefully at her home at “The Island Commons” on Chebeague Island, Maine. Her passing was made easier by the loving care of the staff there and with the help of Hospice of Southern Maine. She is the Aunt of Sam Birkett and Susan Muniak.
02/12/14 - Thomas Warden, 81 passed on into eternal life after a long illness at the Maine Veteran’s Home. He is the father of Pastor Linda Brewster. The celebration of his life will be on Saturday, March 1st at 2pm at the Cressey Road United Methodist Church in Gorham, with a reception following.
02/9/14 - Valerie Dyer Riddle, 64, died at Eastern Maine Medical in Bangor after a brief illness. She is the Daughter of Byrle O'Neil and mother of Bobby and Brent and sister to Joe (Skipper) Dyer and Everett O'Neil, grandmother to Dakota and Corianne.
01/28/14 - Joseph Wentling 69 died at his home late on Tuesday night. The memorial service will be Saturday, February 8th at 11 am at the St. Bartholomew's church in Yarmouth, with a luncheon following at the Harraseeket Inn. Husband of Jan Knight Wentling, and father to Benjamin Wentling and Polly Wentling Wentworth. Thank you to all of our Chebeague friends and family for the outpouring of support during this time of loss.
01/10/14 - Leona Boxer, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Chebeague Island in 1922 and is survived by her seven children: Doris, Jeffrey, Vivian, Daniel, Joyce, Ned and Donna. There will be a graveside service for Leona Boxer on Saturday, June 28th at 1:00 PM. Please join us for the service followed by refreshments at the Parish House.
01/05/14 - Rose Marie Mackay, of Plymouth, and formerly of Scituate, passed away. She is the mother of Darlene Eyster and grandmother of Henry Bangert.

12/23/13 - Neil Gill , 55, son of Jean Whitaker and stepson of Al Whitaker passed away in Boston after a long battle with cancer. Neil is the husband of Diane Gill and they have two children, Steven 25 and Chelsea 23 and reside in Raynham, Mass. Neil also has a brother, Peter Gill, sister, Francine of Massachusetts and a brother Brian Gill of Colorado. No services are planned at this time.
12/5/13 - Sam Ballard, died peacefully at his home on Chebeague. Sam was the husband of Sally Ballard, the father of Andrea & Tim Ballard, Joe D & Ginny Ballard’s uncle, and Susie Stav’s cousin. He was the last of seven children of Ernest/Elisabeth Ballard.
11/23/13 - Duke Faubert, 95, passed awayin Rhode Island. He is Donna Jordan's father and helped the island on many major fundraisers.
11/21/13 - Charles Sumner Butters II, 69,of Sebastian, Florida peacefully passed at The Tippett Home in Needham, MA where he received wonderful care from a warm, loving and skilled staff. A graveside service for Chuck Butters is planned for Sunday, June 22 at 1:30 here at Chebeague. Please join us for the service or just drop by our house after the service to visit and enjoy some refreshments. Our family will be home all afternoon.

9/18/13 - Suzanne E. "Sue" Hutchison, 84, died Wednesday at McLean in Simsbury. She is the mother of Suzy Hurwitz and grandmother to Hutch Hurwitz.

9/15/13   Henry R. Immerwahr, 97, died peacefully at Carol Woods Retirement Community in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, after a brief illness.  A memorial service is planned for October 5, 2013 in Chapel Hill.  He will be buried on Chebeague.

9/13/13 - Margery Tonks passed away at her home in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, with family by her side. She first came to Chebeague in the 1940’s and enjoyed the island summer after summer after summer.

9/7/13 - Congratulations to Nora Bisharat and Ibrahim Najjar who were married at the Dropping Springs on Chebeague. Nora is the daughter of Leila and Suhail Bisharat and the granddaughter of the late Margaret and Blanchard Bates.

8/31/13 - Born to Meredith and Joshua Coates of Northampton, MA, a daughter, Maya Eileen Coates, weighing in at 7lbs and 20” long. Maya has a sister Rosie age 4 and is the fourth great-grand child of Charlotte Richards Morse a former summer resident of Division Point.
8/12/13 - T. Vance Chamberlin, 64, died in Wilmington, NC after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Seton and children Katie Sherwin of Ballston Lake, NY and Megan Chamberlin of Denver, Co and a sister Annie Boyer of Mechanicsburg, PA.and his mother Lillian Chamberlin of Boulder Colorado.Vance spent many summers on Chebeague and he loved it here.
8/6/13 - Sanford Ellsworth Doughty, 93, died unexpectedly in the home in which he was born. There will be a celebration of Sanford's life on August 22nd at 11am.
8/7/13 - Marguerite "Cissie" Williams Lindemann, 88, of Portland passed away peacefully after a long, fulfilled life of service.

6/27/13 - Betsy Whitman, 87, passed away peacefully at her home at Brookhaven in Lexington, MA with her two daughters close. A memorial service and reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 15th at Brookhaven in Lexington.There will be an Open House in celebration of the Life of Betsy Whitman, Monday August 12th, 3-5 pm, at the Whitman cottage, 19 Ben Webber Rd. Please park on the east side of Capps Road, facing up hill (toward the hotel).
6/12/13 - Nolan Lushington, librarian and library building planner, died at his home in Hartford.. He was a summer resident of Chebeague Island for nearly 20 years.
6/10/13 - Carolyn Waller Bradley, 87, died peacefully at 2:04 am in her home in Seekonk Massachusetts surrounded by her family.
6/9/13 - Born to Pete and Becky Pellerin, a son, Palmer Luke Pellerin who joins his sister Juliette Pellerin. Palmer was born at 6:44 a.m. at their home on Chebeague Island (at 10lbs and 22 inches long!). They are thrilled and grateful to welcome a new Pellerin to this beloved island community!

5/2/13 - Barry Collins passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Wake County Hospice, NC after a short battle with Gastric Cancer. Barry is the husband of Gaye “Bruley” Collins.
4/28/13 - Jane Brock Tonks Cushing, 92, died at her home at Lanier Village Estates in Gainesville, Georgia. She died peacefully, with family close. Jane spent most of her summers on Chebeague, after marrying Neal Estabrook Tonks in 1946. Neal died in 1983, and Jane remarried in 1992 to Bill Cushing. In addition to her husband Bill, Jane leaves four children and their spouses who treasured her and will miss her very much – Gretchen and husband Jim Hartling in Philadelphia; Rick and wife Cis (Kuntz) of Cumberland Center, ME; Neal (Cutter) and wife Julie of Charleston SC; and William and wife Debbie of Athens GA.
4/25/13 - Born to Nate and Mika Lentz in Philadelphia, Emery Renee Lentz. She weighed 9lbs 7 oz. Proud grandparents are Alice (Morse) and Peter Mellin of Yarmouth and Barbara Barr of Atlanta. 4/22/13 - George Williford Tripp, 79, died in Alabama. George had been the minister on Chebeague for a number of years.
4/10/13 - Born to Tara and Colin Hulme, a son, Hunter Joseph Hulme (8 lbs. 8 oz.) in Norwalk, CT. Hunter is the grandson of Pam(Sharp) and George Hulme and the great grandson of Nancy and Will Sharp. He hopes to be able to visit the island this summer.
4/10/13 - Born to Sarah (Morse) and Shane Layng, a son, Wyatt Edward. He weighed 7lbs, 13oz. Proud grandparents are Micul Ann & Ed Morse and Sue & Brian Layng. 3/8/13 - Born to Ashley and Cameron Pellegrini, a daughter, Audrina Noel Pellegrini at 5:45 AM at Norfolk Sentara Hospita and weighed 7lb 7oz. She is Phil and Betty Johnson’s first great granddaughter and all are doing well.
3/2/13 - Louise O. Smith, 91, a resident of Main Street in Monmouth, died Saturday, March 2, at her home. Louise is the mother of Carol Lynn Davis.
2/10/13 - Marianne W. Brenton, 79, died peacefully in her sleep. The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the island community for all their prayers and well-wishes during her long fight with cancer and COPD.

1/31/13 - William McGuire, 92, of Ithaca, NY passed away at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Barbara Weld McGuire.
1/29/13 - Robert L. 'Bub' Thurlow Jr., 52, of North Yarmouth, passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends in his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bub was a special friend of Jamie KomLosy.

1/20/13 - Charles Bowen Read, 62, died of a heart attack in Anderson South Carolina. He was the son of Robert Prentice Read and Nancy Ballou Cooke and brother of Robin, Cookie, Rozzie and David Read.
1/18/13 - James Howard Scifres, 71, of Fairfax, VA, succumbed to his long valiant battle with cancer with his family by his side.
1/18/13 - Nancy (Perkins) Harvey, 74, died from her second battle with lung cancer. She was at home in Dennis, MA. Nancy was the daughter of Joann and David Perkins and the sister of David Perkins (DG) of Springettes, Chebeague.
1/13/13 - Neicia Eldena Tompkins, 58, of Grand Gorge, died peacefully on January 13, 2013, surrounded by her family and friends. She is the mother of Michelle Jackson.
1/11/13 - Nancy Elliott Kennedy, 97, died peacefully at her home Valle Verde Retirement Community in Santa Barbara, CA. Nancy is the mother of Kate Kennedy.

12/10/12 - Elise B. (Lamoureux) Roy, 96, passed away peacefully in the Lutheran Home in Worcester MA. She is the mother of Annette Kincaid.
11/27/12 - Born to John and Katie Oderda, twins, Elliott Roger Oderda and Margaret Ann Oderda. They both both weighed 5 pounds 12 ounces. The babies, Mom and Dad are doing great. John Oderda is the son of Lynda and Gary Oderda and brother and sister to Owen.

11/23/12 - Susan Ballard Boal, 96, of Charlevoix, died, at the Georgia House in Charlevoix. She is the sister to Sam Ballard and Aunt to Joe Ballard, Ginny Ballard, Ted Ballard, Ben Ballard and Ginger Hobart Campbell.
11/6/12 - Born to Ryan and Sara Ross, a healthy daughter, Avery Rose Ross, 5 lbs. 6 oz., 17" long. She is the granddaughter of Doug & Gina Ross. She was a little early and we suspect that she knew Thanksgiving was right around the corner.

10/30/12 - Minnie MacNeill, 80, died at St. Joseph's Manor in Portland after a long illness. Visiting hours will be at Hobbs Funeral Friday, November 2nd from 4 - 6pm and a celebration of her life will be Saturday at 1pm at the Chebeague United Methodist Church.

5/8/12 – Hugh L. Myers, 84, of Media, PA passed away with his daughter holding his hand after a brief illness. Hugh is the father of Cheryl Stevens, grandfather of Jessica Wallace and David Stevens and father in law of David Stevens. Services were held Friday, May 11th at Covenant Methodist Church in Springfield, PA with interment on Saturday May 12th in Tunkhannock, PA.
5/8/12 - Born to Larkin Read Gibas, a son, Sawyer Sylvester Gibas. Sawyer weighed in at 9 lbs 1 oz. Larkin is the daughter of Cookie Read and sister to Nathaniel and cousin to Garrett and Reade Patterson. Come meet him in late August. A 6th generation summer complaint.

4/12/12 - Marina C. Neumann, 72, of Granby, CT passed away peacefully with her family nearby. She is the mother of Topher and mother-in-law to Erika, and beloved grandmother(Gamma) of Eva and Nate. She cherished the Chebeague community in her year-round visits. A memorial service will be held Monday 4/16 in Granby CT.

3/14/12 - Born to Kristine (Marsh) Donovan and Josh Donovan, a daughter, Kailyn Judith Donovan, in Northampton, MA. Everyone is just Great! Kailyn is the granddaughter to Ken and Rosana Marsh and great granddaughter to Carolyn Marsh and the late Albert Marsh.
3/11/12 - Eleanor (Canavan) Hill, 94, passed away peacefully at the Island Commons. She is survived by three daughters Sandra, Susan, and Ricki, 2 sons-in-law, 7 grandchildren, and 13 great children. She was happy when awakened each morning, and assured she was on Chebeague. Ellie's service will be on July 3 @ 11am at the church, gathering at parish house afterwards.
3/10/12 - Robert Ferrelli, 76, of Portland, died at Maine Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was the husband to Priscilla Nida. There will be a graveside service at the Chebeague Island Cemetery on Saturday, June 16th at 1:00 PM. Reception to follow at the Parish House.

10/21/11 - Thomas Talbott (Tally) Bond, 85, died in Baltimore Maryland. Funeral will be in Maryland on Wednesday.
10/16/11 - Evelyn Krauss Hodge, 100, died at the Quaker retirement community in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania.
10/7/11 - Alice F. Merrill, 91, of Portland and Windham, passed away at Ledgewood Manor in Windham. She was the mother of Pam Doughty and Bobby Merrill.
10/2/11 - Charles Kuntz, 92, passed away peacefully at the Island Commons. Father of Charles Michael Kuntz and Cis Tonks and the late Edward Weagle.
9/25/11 - Ann Knight, 86, passed away at home in Pennsylvania with her family by her side at 5:10. She loved Chebeague very much- it was her summer sanctuary. Click here for a video. Memorial service will be July 21st at 3pm with a gathering at the golf club after.
9/21/11 - Richard Stanford, 42, died unexpectedly in Abeline, Texas. He is the brother to Tina Jordan and cousin to Laura Summa.

8/14/11 - Rosalyn F. Barrett Weagle, 71, died with her family by her side on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, following a battle with cancer.. The service will be Thursday, 1 o'clock at the 1st Parish Congregational Church, 116 Main Street, Yarmouth.

8/13/11 - Joan R. (Rogers) Moynihan, 81, of Hooksett, died peacefully at her home surrounded by loving family. Joan's funeral will be Thursday August 18th at 12:30 noon at the church with a reception following at the Parish House.

8/7/11 - Alice Ross Bowman, 89, passed away peacefully of pneumonia at Maine Medical Center. She has been at the Hawthorne House for several years. The funeral for Alice Bowman will be at the church on Thursday Aug 11th at noon.
7/28/11 - Virginia "Ginger" Sharpe, 88, passed away peacefully, at the home of her younger son, Kevin, in Denmark, ME. A service will be held for family and friends on August 27, 2011 at 1.00 p.m., at the Chebeague Island United Methodist Church, followed by a graveside service and reception in the Parish Hall.
7/18/11 - George Turrell, 59, beloved brother of Elise Webb, died in Nyack, New York, surrounded by loved ones. George adored Maine and spent summers on Chebeague with the Webb family on Cottage Road. A master carpenter, he refurbished boats for South Street Seaport, the Maine Maritime Museum, and restored historic buildings and Dutch barns in the Hudson River Valley. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, his mother and sister.

6/20/11 - Born to Melissa Hamilton and Seth Tompkins, a daughter, Elsie-Alaire Tompkins Hamilton at 4:16PM. She weighed 6lbs 6 oz.and was 19" long. Mel's parents are Sherm and Estherann Hamilton. Mel and Elsie are doing great and should be going home tomorrow.

5/27/11 Born to Andrew and Caitlin Layng, a second son, Theodore Talbot Layng, in New York City. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces.He is the grandson of John and Amanda, born the same day as his grandfather John. Teddy and his mother, Caitlin, are doing well.
5/14/11 - Born on Chebeague to Peter and Becky Pellerin, a daughter, Juliette Adeline Pellerin at 6:14 in the morning. She weighs 8lbs & 4oz and is 21 inches long. 2/17/11 - Paul C. Wolff, 87..of Lake Worth ,Florida died at the Veteran's Hosp. there of diabetes & other complications. He was the last of the Komlosy cousins. His ashes will be interred beside his father in the Chebeague cemetery in the Spring.
2/11/11 - William Allan Calthorpe, age 77, of Palmetto, FL died February 11, 2011 of complications of pneumoni. He is the father of Bill Calthorpe and Leanne Stefanilo.
2/7/11 - Born to Jennifer and Bryan Bunch, a son, Paden Robert Bunch. He weighed 8 lb 14 oz and joins his sister Lila. Paden is the 1st great-grandson of Mabel and Sanford. Jennifer is Mabel and Sanford's grand-daughter.

2/4/2011- Born to April and Nick Fogarty, twin girls. Autumn Gayle was born at 8:05am weighing 4lbs 10oz and Brielle Marie was born at 8:06am weighing 5lbs. 10oz. They are the granddaughters of Gayle Belesca and the great-granddaughters of Ann Belesca. Everyone is doing fine and they will be eagerly welcomed home by big sister Layla.

12/15/10 - Eleanor Bronson, age 82 (long time friend of Leland and Karen Hamilton) passed away.. Most people remember her walking around the island. She never let her medical problems keep her away from Chebeague.
12/14/10 - Wilbur "Spike" Meredith, age 74, passed away in Cleveland, Ohio. Spike was born October 10, 1936 to Dr. Wilbur R. "Rib' II and Lillian (Buxbaum) Meredith. His is the father of Dr. Shannon Meredith of Cumberland. A cousin to Jackie Cross, Donald and Robert Buxbaum.
12/13/10 - Phyllis Mildred Moynihan passed away on Dec. 13, 2010, five days shy of her 96th birthday surrounded by her loving family.

11/26/10 - Barbara Dodd Anderson, 78, daughter of David and Elsie Dodd, passed away November 26, 2010. Her final days were passed at home in Fresno, California, with her family at her side. An informal service will be held at the Chebeague Island Cemetery on July 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.

11/3/10 - Born to Susan Hiniker and Michael Khodadoust, a son, Lucas Edward Khodadoust.  Lucas was 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and 20 ½ inches long.    Everyone is doing great.  Lucas’s grandparents are Mary and Jerry Hiniker, and his great-grandparents are Henry and the late Sally Immerwahr.  Susie and Mike were married on Chebeague on July 18, 2009, and they can’t wait to introduce Lucas to Chebeague next summer.
10/25/10 - Lavinia Ethel Burns, 94, died at the home of her son in West Baldwin. She was the sister to Archie Ross.
10/25/10 - Born to Kimberly (Bogle) and Seth Jubinville, a son, Gardiner Dennis Jubinville. He was 8 days early and was 8 pounds 15 ounces and 20 and three quarter inches. They are both doing great. Grandparents are Sue (Layng) and Warren Bogle. Gardiner is the great grandson of Jeanne and Gard Layng.
10/17/10 - Richard 'Dick' Carlton Peterson, 97, passed peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Dick was the plumbing inspector for Chebeague for many, many years.
10/8/10 - Rob Hogan, 54, died in North Carolina following an injury from a fall three weeks earlier. Memorial Service and burial for Rob Hogan will be held at the Chebeague Methodist Church on Saturday November 13, 2010 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow in the Parish House.
10/4/10 - Born to Benjamin and Courtney Johnson, a son, Rocco Benjamin Johnson, at 12:20 pm, weighed 6 lbs 7oz and 20" long. He is the first grandchild of Scott and Charlotte Johnson.

9/6/10 - Virginia Tacey, mother of Lesley Clark (Camp Providence), passed away suddenly in Bradenton, Florida. Virginia had been a visitor to Chebeague for the last 18 years. She loved Chebeague almost as much as Lesley and Ernie Richardson. She had many friends here on Chebeague, and will be greatly missed.

5/6/10 - Specialist Wade A. Slack, 21, of Waterville, Maine died in Afghanistan. Wade and some of his family members have been visitors to Chebeague Island, staying at Camp Providence for weekends over the last 10 - 12 years.

1/6/10 - Born to Leah MacDonald and Ben Wentling, a daughter, Clara Anne Wentling at 5:18am, and she weighs in at exactly 8 lbs and is 21 1/2 inches long. She was born at home after a long labor, and everyone is now happy, healthy and resting.
1/4/10 - Mona Taliento, 91, passed away this morning with Neil by her side. She had spent many years on Chebeague with Vickie and Neil, Mia and Lena and Leo.
1/1/10 - Linda K. Kokemuller, 57, died in Portland, Maine. She spent lots of time on Chebeague with the Helbigs and the MacArthurs. A celebration of her life will be later this Spring on Chebeague.

There will be a Graveside Memorial Service for Waneta Cleaves Saturday May 1st, 1:00pm with a Reception following at the Parish House.

12/4/09 - Kirsten Abrahamson Vogeler, 42, died unexpectedly in New Gloucester. Kirsten's husband is Mark and they have four children, Danielle, Carleigh, Josh and Colton. She is the sister to BJ and Dirk and daughter of the Jane Abrahamson. Their address is 552 Penney Rd, New Gloucester ME 04260-4625. Her service will be at Lindquist on Saturday, the 12th. Visiting hours are from 2 - 5 and a period of rembrance would begin at 3p.

10/20/09 - Kimberly Hayden Doughty, 44, died. She was the granddaughter of Mary and Eben Doughty, daughter of Bruce and brother to Gardiner.
10/12/09 - Theresa F. Collard, 76 of Biddeford, died in Portland. Theresa is the mother of Denise Campbell.
10/2/09 - Born to Rebecca and Joshua Lentz , a daughter, Caitlin Elizabeth Lentz. She weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and is the great granddaughter of the late Ned and Eleanor Morse. She has a brother Jacob and very proud grandparents, Alice and Peter Mellin. Mom and baby are doing well.
09/29/09- John Wm W Maxon, 81 of Chebeague Island, died while at Falmouth by the Sea, after living his life with pulmonary fibrosis. There will be a service in his honor at the Chebeague United Methodist Church on Saturday October 10th.
9/26/09 - Congratulations to Sarah Osgood and Nick Strangas who were married in York Harbor, Maine on Sept. 26th. Sarah is the daughter of Lisa Shattuck Halpin and granddaughter of Jane Shattuck. Sarah and Nick will reside in Portsmouth, N.H.

4/16/09 - Jane Storey Abrahamson, 75, died after a brief illness surrounded by all her family.. The service for Jane will be at 1pm on Saturday May 9.
4/13/09 - Born to Thomas Hall and Graciela Lamy, a son, Lucas Tomas Hall, on EASTER! Lucas was 8 lbs. 11 ½ oz. and 21 inches long. Parents and son are all fine (but tired!). 3/29/09 - Congratulations to Jessica Perkins and Christopher Taylor who just got engaged. Chris is an artist and Jess is a social worker and both reside in Flagstaff, Arizona. They plan to marry on the island in a year.
3/26/09 - Reinhardt “Reinie” J. Gallipeau, 70, of Atkinson, NH, died peacefully at his home with his wife (Janice) and son (Doug) at his side, after fighting multiple myeloma for two years. He and his family vacationed on Chebeague Island for 30+ years and came to know and love many of the islanders.
3/14/09 - Born to Suzanne and Aaron Rugh, a daughter,Elisabeth Toppan Rugh, at 12:09 p.m. She was 8 lbs. 9 oz. and 20 ¾" All went well and Suzanne and baby are now home and doing great!
3/10/09 - Born to Kimberly (Bogle) and Seth Jubinville, a daughter, Abigail Jeanne Jubinville, in Manchester, NH. Abby weighed 9lbs, 2 oz, and is 21 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Sue (Layng) and Warren Bogle. Mom and baby are doing well and Abby is looking forward to her first visit to Chebeague this spring!
3/9/09 - Born to Laura Moreschi and Jeff Pare, a daughter, Victoria (Tori) Shattuck Pare at 9:36am. She was 8lbs, 9oz. 21 1/4 inches long. Her big sisters Amelia (Mimi) and Charlotte (Lottie) are enthusiastic helpers eager to hug, hold, and touch the baby. Tori is the great-grand daughter of Jane Shattuck and the grand daughter of Susan Shattuck. We look forward to her first trip to Chebeague this July!
3/3/09 - Elsie M. Hamilton, 94 passed away today at MMC after having a massive stroke. She was surrounded by family. Visiting hours are at Linquist Funeral Home, Yarmouth, Sunday from 3-6PM. Funeral is at Central Square Baptist church 4 Brentwood St. Portland, (large stone church, just up the street from Deering High School, Stevens Ave.) in Portland on Monday at 11AM.
2/18/09 - Charles (Chuck) A. Harvey Jr. died after a brief illness.
2/13/09 - Born to Lisa and Jason Brown, a son, Nicholas Ross Brown born almost 4 weeks early at 3:23 pm. He was 5 pounds, 1 oz. and 18 inches long. Mom, Dad, and Big sister Emily are doing great. He is the grandson of late Ross Martindale Jr, great grandson of late Ross Martindale and the great nephew of Fred and Donna Martindale.

2/9/09 -Janet Louise Landis, 52, died at home in Cumberland. Janet is the wife of Bill Landis and mother to Christine. Bill has been the Recreation Director in Cumberland for many years. Her service and visiting hours will be the weekend of Feb 22nd.

2/4/09 - Ralph Leander Brown, 74, died peacefully, with no pain in his sleep with his family by his side. Ralph is the father of Vickie Taliento.
1/28/09 - Faith Ellen McCatherin, 83 of Jacksonville, Fla, and formerly of Falmouth and Yarmouth, passed peacefully with loving family members at her side. Faith is the mother of Chuck McCatherin.
1/19/09 - Born to Amy Baxter and Roald Gundersen, a son, in Stoddard, Wisconsin. He weighed 8 lbs 14 oz. As of 2/4/09 he and his mother are in the hospital where he is recovering from viral pneumonia. He is the grandson of Peter and Linda Carleton.

11/18/08 ... Donald A. Lagasse (Cowboy), 54, died at his home after a short battle with cancer surrounded by his family, friends, dogs, cats and birds. Don worked and stayed on the island building homes and working with Jimmy Stewart.

9/16/08 ... Born to Polly and Kevin Wentworth, a son and a daughter, Alden Holbrook Wentworth and Olivia Philbrick Wentworth. Alden was 5 lbs 9 oz 18" long and Olivia was 4 lbs 15 oz 18 1/2" long. All are doing well.

9/13/08 ,,, Dennis A. Bogle, 56,   lost his fight against lymphoma.  His funeral will be September 17th in Lyndhurst, N.J.  Sue and Warren are thankful that their families were all present this summer for their daughter, Kim's wedding.

Born to Christine and Christopher Johnson, a son, Aiden Christopher Johnson.  He arrived at 6:45 am at Winchester Hospital.  Aiden weighs 6 lbs 9 oz and is 20 in. long.  He is the fourth grandchild for Paul and Norma Johnson.  Mom, Dad, and son are doing well and Aiden is looking forward to his first visit to Chebeague this summer.

He arrived at 11:28 pm weighing 5 lbs 5 oz and 19 in. long.  This is the first grandchild for Bob McGuire and Helena McGuire and the second for Tom and Cathy Adelman.  Mom, Dad, and Cash are doing well and thank everyone for their love and support.

7/22/08 ... Bob W.Jones , 69, passed away at the Island Commons. His wife, Peggie and daughters, Becky and Debbie, and dear friend, Ginny were at his side.

Born to Nathaniel Cooke Read and Teresa Telander, a son, Axel Larkin Telander-Read at 3:34 PM on at Homerton Hospital, Hackney, London, England, United Kingdom.  Nathaniel is the son of Cookie Read.  When Axel comes to Chebeague he will be the 6th generation to Summer in the Alder Cottage.

7/17/08 ... Born to Nathan and Lindsey Hamilton-Barba (daughter of Leland and Bertha Hamilton), a son, Ryan Lee Barba. He was born at 3:39PM and weighed 6 lbs. & 7 oz. and is doing great.  His big brother Nathaniel was so happy to finally meet him.

2/29/08 ... Congratulations to Grace Wilson and Aubrey Jones who were married in Philadelphia. They will be moving to the Kitsap Peninsula west of Seattle, Washington after Grace graduates from nursing school (on the 19th of May).

2/24/08  Edna G. Hall, 92, died in Portland, ME.   Edna was the mother of Merrill Hall of Yarmouth, grandmother of Chip, James, Charles, May and Thomas Hall, and friend of Ester Knight.

10/05/05 ...Madeline Craven passed away peacefully this morning at Hawthorn House in Brunswick.  There will be a memorial service here on Chebeague Monday, October 24th at Chebeague Methodist Church at 1 pm. In leiu of flowers donations may be made to Chebeague's Samaritan Fund.

6/30/05 ...Lillian Etoile Langhorst, 80, died in Dix Hills, New York after a long illness. She summered on Chebeague for many years.  She is deeply missed by her two daughters, Linda and Diane, and their families.  She leaves behind five grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Geoffrey, Tyler and Jonathan, who all enjoy Chebeague.

5/1/05 ... Ross Martindale Jr., 61, died peacefully in his sleep from complications of diabetes at home in Caldwell, New Jersey.

4/29/05 ...Louise Weiss, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep.  She and Wally have been living at Sterling House, 3401 SE Aster Place, in Stuart, Florida, 34994. for the past 6 months.  Louise had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease.  A Memorial service & burial will be arranged at a later date on Chebeague Island.

4/13/05 ...Joann Perkins, 87, died at Brentwood Nursing Home in Yarmouth. She was surrounded by her family and with the help of Hospice, died peacefully: free of pain at last. She will be missed. There will be calling hours on Wednesday, April 20th from 2 to 4 PM at Hobbs funeral Home .. 230 Cottage Rd. South Portland.
Her funeral Mass will be on Thursday, the 21st of April at 11:00AM at The Sacred Heart Church in Yarmouth (the stone one).

There will be a Memorial Service at the Chebeague Methodist Church, Chebeague Island, Maine at 1100 AM Saturday June 18, 2005. There will be a reception for friends and family immediately following the Service at the Chebeague Island Hall. Born to Lisa Martindale Brown and her husband Jason, a girl, Emily Clark Brown.  She weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces and was 173/4 inches.  Mother and child are doing fine.  Emily is the great granddaughter of Ross Martindale, Sr., granddaughter of Ross Jr. and the grand niece of Fred Martindale.

3/04/04 .. Elizabeth Ann Johnson Leonard, died after a long and courageous battle with cancer in North Carolina. She was surrounded by husband Lou and family. There will be a service in North Carolina on Saturday and one in Hartford on March 13 and she will be buried on the Island in the Spring.

11/26/03 ... Louise Capps Scranton - 91 - died in Indianapolis the day before a Thanksgiving reunion - She was recovering from pneumonia and passed in her sleep. During her last days she often spoke of "Being lost in the woods near Deer Point" and of a "woman there who was helping her find her way". Clearly Chebeague was in her heart 'til the end. The family will have a service some time around Late June on Chebeague.

11/15/03 ...Nancy Soule Rice Plummer, 77, died at home in Hamden Connectucut surrounded by her family. The family will have a service next May or June on Chebeague.

8/22/03 ....Angela Varney Weagle, 35, died in Portland of complications from breast cancer. As per Angela's wishes there will be one service at Portland Headlight at 4 PM Monday, August 25. All are welcome, carpooling is encouraged and the family will provide refreshments.

7/29/03 ....Peter Sullivan, 35, of Hingham, MA, died of a heart attack early Tuesday morning. Peter is the son of Marjorie Sullivan and nephew of Ester Knight. Peter is survived by wife Christine, son Josh and daughter Kelly. Services are Friday in Massachusetts.

Her brother, Orson, is introducing her to all her boy cousins on Chebeague - Wesley, Sam, Matthew, William and Andrew Marshall as well as Alex and Luke Bates. We all appreciate the readiness of the CTC and the Chebeague Island Rescue to respond to Lydia's impending arrival 24/7. Everyone is relieved that all went smoothly via the regular ferry.
