LaGanke, William Clark Sr.

William Clark LaGanke Sr., 82, of Signal Mountain, died on Thursday, February 3, 2011.

He was born in Wayland, Ma., and had lived in the Chattanooga area for 26 years. He was a retired teacher, having taught at Choate School in Wallingford, Ct., for 32 years, and was the high school basketball coach there for 12 years. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church.

He was an avid stamp collector and loved all sports events, especially basketball and baseball.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne LaGanke.

Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Clark (Lisa) LaGanke, of Raleigh, N.C., Chris (Mindy) LaGanke, of Cullman, Ala.; and 10 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at St. Paul Episcopal Church with the Rev. Suzanne Smitherman officiating. Burial will be at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:15-2 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
