Article on the North Caroline Newsobserver.com about Rob- click here.

10/8/10 - Rob passed away at 7:40 surrounded by his family. Many of us have been following Rob and his families struggle to survive an unfortunate chain of events following an injury from a simple fall off his tractor. We are all so appreciative to Ann and the family for sharing with us on the Caring Bridge. Everyone from the island and beyond have been reading all the notes, journals and tributes daily and Rob has become part of all our lives and I know I speak for everyone in sending our regards to all the family.

There will be a public memorial service for Rob on Wednesday, October 13th, 2010 at 1pm at the Alumni Center on the UNC Campus.

Rob's dear friends may wish to honor his memory in some meaningful way. In lieu of flowers Ann and Susan, in keeping with Rob's passion for nature and land conservation, have requested that donations be made to one of the following organizations
