Judy was born on July 15th, 1944, in Portland, Maine and was the oldest of two children to Scott and Charlotte St. Cyr. She grew up on Chebeague Island, Maine and made this her lifelong home. She graduated from Greely High School in 1963. Later that year Judy married the love of her life Emery V. Doughty Sr. on November 10th, 1963, and they went on to have two sons, Emery Jr., and Nathan.
Judy lived an active life, having many jobs, including Chebeague Island Commons for over 20 years providing care to the residents. She also had a full-time cleaning and caretaking business for cottages on the Island.
Judy had many passions, she loved to travel, snowmobile, go out to eat and spend time with friends. After her husband’s retirement they traveled the US in their RV and spent 17 winters in Daytona Beach, FL and spent time at the family camp in Burlington, Maine. She also took trips to the Amish Country and elsewhere after her Husband’s passing with Arlene and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Scott St. Cyr, Charlotte (Stilphen) St. Cyr and husband Emery V Doughty Sr. Judy is survived by
her sons, Emery V. Doughty Jr. and his partner Pam Kelley, Nathan S. Doughty, wife Martha Hamilton-Doughty and beloved grand dog Newt. Judy is also survived by her brother William St. Cyr and his wife Pat St. Cyr and a large extended family on Chebeague Island and Burlington, Maine.
The family extends special thanks to the caregivers at Hospice of Southern Maine, the Chebeague Island Fire and Rescue and the Community at large for their love and support.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday June 8th at 1:00pm.
Judy asked that in lieu of flowers donations could be made to two of her favorite organizations.
