Dorothea Lunt

NEW LONDON - Dorothea Lunt, 87, of Country Road, died Monday at Dartmout Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

She was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of James and Caroline (Trefz) Walker.

She attended Mt. Holyoke College in south Hadley, Mass., and graduated from Barnard College in New York and Katherine Gibbs School in Boston.

She lived in Philadelphia from 1979 to 1989 and later in Oley, Pa., before moving to New London in 1989.

Lunt summered on Chebeague Island in Maine.

She was a member of the Embroiderers Guild of North America and was an avid bridge player and needlepointer.

She loved traveling and reading

Survivors include three children, marcia Howell of Portland, Maine, Linda Wolf of Cambridge, Mass., and James Lunt of Berkeley Calif., six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Her husband, willaim Lunt Jr., died in 1998.
