Phyllis Beal Johnson

 

Phyllis Beal Johnson, 78, of Clearwater Drive, Falmouth died Wednesday after being struck by a car in Kissimmee, Fla.

Born in Portland, daughter of Lincoln Beal and Henrietta Simmons Beal, she attended Portland schools and graduated from Deering High School.

She was employed by the Portland School Department in the lunch program.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Clark Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was active with the Makeria. She was also a member of the Rebekahs and was also very active witht he Corner Stone Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She enjoyed collecting bells.

For many years, she resided in Venice, Fla., and summered at Thomas Pond in Raymond.

Her husband of 49 years, Willis W. Johnson, died in 1987, and a son, David W. Johnson, died in 1994.

Surviving are a son, Bruce Johnson of Portland; a granddaughter, Keadron Johnson of Phoenix; four grandsons, Srnka Johnson of Phoenix, and Brendan, Jesse and Kyle Johnson, all of Portland.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Clark Memorial United Methodist Church, Pleasant Avenue. Arrangements are by Vossen Crematorium, Orlando.
