CUMBERLAND - James Henry Murray, Jr., 78, died Tuesday, Oct.
8, 2002 at a Portland Hospital. He was born in Old Town, a son
of James H. and Adalaide Soule Murray, Sr., Mr. Murray served
in the Army during World War II . He retired from Rockwood Systems
and Portland Copper and most recently from Chebeague Transportation
Company as a part-time bus driver. Mr. Murray belonged to the
American Legion Gray Post #86, Veterans of Foreign War Post #
832 South Portland and Senior Citizen Lifeline Gym. He lived in
this area of Maine over 60 years. He was predeceased by his first
wife, Phyllis June Latham; and grandson, Mark Kimball. Surviving
is his wife, Doris Timmons Murray of Cumberland; a son, Raymond
' Buddy' Leavitt of New Gloucester; two daughters, Patricia Kimball
of Gray and Joan Babb of Windham; four brothers, Wallace Murray
of Sanford, Robert Murray of Sanford, Ernest Latham of Lewiston,
Frederick Latham of South Portland; a sister, Wilemena Thorton
of Texas; eight grandchildren; nine great - grandchildren. A graveside
service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday in Gray Village Cemetery.
Rev. Philip Shearman will Officiate. Arrangements under the care
of Wilson Funeral Home, Gray.
