Gillian Amy Ratcliffe

gillianGillian Amy Ratcliffe, 81years old, passed into eternal life, peacefully with friends at her side.

Born April 15th, 1942 in the sub-district of Wilmslow, Cheshire England, she was the youngest of 3 children. As a child, she attended Petra Mar Boarding School, in North Wales. As a young adult, Gill left Wilmslow, to pursue a career as a stewardess for Trans World Airlines, (TWA). Her main flights for 6yrs. was NYC to Televive. It was a demanding career, but one she loved and served for a total of 36yrs. While still working , she lived in both the NY suburbs as well as Marian County, (Mill Valley), CA., before moving to her home on the east coast of Maine, ( Chebeague Island).

After her retirement from TWA, Gill worked at the local Island Market for several years, while also pursuing her love of gardening. Gill lovedgillian her home on the coast, almost as much as she loved animals. She would often say, “Home means a lot to me....animals mean the world to me”. Her greatest love was for dogs. She never met a dog, that she didn't fall in love with. Gill was neat as a pin and everything had to be in it's rightful place. She loved to converse with friends and she had a quick wit. She also looked forward to her nightly scotch w/ a splash of water before dinner.

Gill is preceeded in death by her parents, Margaret Amy and Percy Ratcliffe and her brother in law, Ken Morgan. She leaves behind a brother, John L. Ratcliffe,(wife Hilary) a sister Dorothy A. Morgan and 2 neices, Susan and Alison Ratcliffe, all whom reside in England, as well as her dear friends and caregivers, Barbara and Joe Ballard and Megan Munroe of Chebeague Island, Maine.
