Joseph F. Dyer Jr.

CUMBERLAND - Joseph F. Dyer Jr., 67 of Littlefield Avenue, Chebeague Island, died Monday at a Yarmouth nursing home.

He was born in Portland, a son of Joseph F. and Marion L. Warren Dyer. A lifelong resident of Chebeague Island, he attended schools there.

Mr. Dyer was a self-employed lobsterman.

He attened Chebeague Island United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Virginia Bickford Dyer; seven sons, Alden of Portland, Joseph of Chebeague Island, Robert Ridgewell of Bath, George King of Lisbon, Gary and Scott King, both of Monmouth, and Fred King of Jacksonville, N.C.; eight daughters, Valerie Riddle of Burlington, Pamela Pulsifer and Laura Yenco, both of Lisbon Falls, Karen Ullom of Sweeney, Texas, Sandra Dyer and Peggy Quatrini, both of Durham, Leslie Dyer of Florida and Jill Dyer of Ohio; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Chebeague Island United Methodist Church.
