Paul P. Thibodeau
Sept. 8, 1930 - August 24, 2009

 

Paul P. Thibodeau, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Monday, August 24, 2009 surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home at the age of 78.  Paul was the beloved husband of many, many wonderful years to Judy (MacVane) Thibodeau.

He was born in Lewiston, Maine the son of the late Philippe and Rose Thibodeau and had resided in CT for the past 52 years and in Maine before that.  He served his country honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.  Paul received his teaching degree from Gorham State Teachers College, Gorham, ME.  Prior to retirement in 1992 Paul taught at Windsor Locks High School for 35 years.

 Besides his wife Judy, Paul is survived by his loving children, Roger and Dee Thibodeau of Somers, Pamela and Jim Machado of Ludlow, MA, Karen and Mike Hanrahan of CT, Ann and Steven Beckham of Flovilla, GA, Mike and Heather Thibodeau of Enfield, and a special son-in-law Jim Chamberland of Enfield.  His beloved grandchildren; children of Roger and Dee, Amy and Stephen Lingley of Stafford Springs, Brandon of Stafford Springs, SSGT Brian of FL, Kyle of Somers, Senior Airman Jake of AZ; children of Karen and Mike, SFC Nate and Becky Hanrahan of IN, SSGT Mike and Senior Airman Tesla of WA; son of Ann and Steven, Derric of Flovilla, GA.  His beloved great granddaughter Carmen Lingley of Stafford Springs.  Also, his faithful and loving dog Sophie.  He is survived by a brother, Wallace and Lou Thibodeau, a sister Norma Paradis all of Lewiston, ME, a special sister-in-law, Jeanette and Ken Hamilton of Chebeague Island, ME and many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents Paul was predeceased by his in-laws, Paul, Phyllis and Jim MacVane and nieces, Peggy, Wendy, and Linda . 

The family would like to give special thanks to all the wonderful, caring people at Enfield dialysis.  They would also like to express their thanks and support to Dr. Arthur Skalski for his help and support during these last difficult days.  A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Adalbert’s Church, 90 Alden Avenue, Enfield followed by military honors.  There are no calling hours.  Internment will be at the convenience of the family.
