Ross, Dorothy M. (Lindsey), of Melrose, formerly a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away quietly at her home on March 25th. Dorothy was born in 1915 in Boston, MA. the daughter of William and Ida (Wolfe) Lindsey. She was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School with the class of 1933. In October of 1936, she married her sweetheart, Weston H. Ross in Swampscott, MA. The two settled in Malden to raise their family and become part of the community. Dorothy and Weston shared over 60 years together until his passing in 1997. Although she was primarily a housewife and mother, she did take employment later in life with AVCO of Everett, MA, where she made valves for artificial hearts. She and Weston spent their summers on Chebeague Island where Weston was born and grew up.

Dorothy was always very involved in many community activities in Malden. She had a fondness for children, and enjoyed playing games, even later in life she would play games with anyone who wanted to. She was also a very talented cook and enjoyed working in the kitchen.

Dorothy is survived by her great niece, Elizabeth Bertolozzi of Melrose, her adopted granddaughter, Isabelle, and her golden retriever, Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her husband Weston, her parents, William and Ida (Wolfe) Lindsey, and her daughter, Carolyn Ross.

A private interment service will be held in the family cemetery lot on Chebeague Island, Maine
