CUMBERLAND - Ruth H. Goodrich, 76,
of Bennetts Cove, Chebeague
Island, died Sunday at a Yarmouth nursing
home.
She was born in Morris, Conn., a
daughter of Raymond H. and Medora Crane
Hurlburt, graduated from Watertown (Conn.)
High School in 1940 and from Bay
Path Institute, Springfield, Mass.,
in 1942, where she majored in accounting. She
then joined the Marines and served for
two and a half years before returning to
Springfield.
In 1942, she married Richard D. Goodrich.
He died in 1945 serving in World
War II.
Mrs. Goodrich worked at Wheeler Electric,
Waterbury, Conn., from 1945 to
1952. She then retired and moved to
Chebeague Island.
Surviving is a sister, Frances C. Clark of Yarmouth.
According to Mrs. Goodrich's wishes, there will no funeral. Burial is private.
