Frank L. 'Bud' Bennett, 65

Frank L. "Bud" Bennett, 65, died Nov. 13, 2001, at Cedars Nursing Center after a long illness with emphysema.

He was born in Portland, a son of Gladys E. and Albert S. Bennett. He attended Chebeague Island schools and was a graduate of Chebeague Island High School.

He was employed by Brown Motors before working for Paul E. Merrill of Merrill Transport as a tractor-trailer driver. He also was a lobster fisherman with his father. He then worked for the New England Telephone Co. and retired in 1992 after 33 years of service.

Mr. Bennett was a member of the Odd Fellows.

He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and hunting. He loved the outdoors and annual hunting trips to his Beddington camp.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Eileen M. Bennett; a son, Brenton S. of Yarmouth; a daughter, Brenda D. Colello of Gray; his mother of Chebeague Island; a sister, Suzanne Jackson of Chebeague Island; and four grandsons.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Chebeague Island Cemetery.
