Doris Ruth Worch Feeney

FALMOUTH - Doris Ruth Worch Feeney, 84, formerly of Falmouth, Maine passed away peacefully on January 31, 2004 in the Utah home of her daughter, Doneen Feeney Mitchell.

Doris was born in Jackson, Michigan on September 11, 1919. She was the only child of Gertrude Koslowsky and Carl Worch. She graduated from Michigan State University where she received a Bachelor Degree in Sociology and met and later married her sweetheart, William H. Feeney, Jr. of Munjoy Hill, Portland. She had two children, Doneen A. and Daniel J. Feeney.

Doris retired as Director of Traveler's Aid, Portland, after 22 years of dedicated service.

She spent over 30 years summering on Chebeague Island where she faithfully volunteered her services to the Grange and Library. "The island" was visited by her cherished friends from all over the country and Europe. Doris "Gram" was renowned for her kindness, cooking, pickles, and Christmas cookies.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Doneen Feeney of Riverton, UT, her grandchildren, Shannon Johnston of Herriman, UT and Jeffrey Feeney of Ball Ground, GA, great-grandchildren, Kalee and Kaiden Johnston, Zachary Feeney, and Daniel J. Feeney, to be born in May, and her daughter-in-law, Lynette Feeney, and many dear friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 PM on Friday, February 20th, at Holy Martyrs Church, Rte 88, Falmouth, where Doris attended faithfully for 50 years.

A memorial service will be presented by Doris' family and friends at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 21st at the Conroy-Tully Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland.

Doris is happy to be reunited with her husband, Bill, her son, Danny, and her family. We are happy for them. She will be greatly missed.
