NORTH YARMOUTH - Beverly Ann Hamilton, 72, wife of Theron Hamilton, passed away on May 19, 2005 after a long battle with cancer. Her family was at her side as she passed comfortably and quietly into God's hands. We celebrate her life, which was lived with wit, warmth, and courage.
She was born in Raymond to Augustus and Evelyn Plummer on June 19, 1932 and spent her childhood in East Raymond and on Raymond Pond. After graduating from North Yarmouth Academy, she worked for several years at Bicknell Photo Lab. She retired from L.L. Bean after 17 years of service.
Bev loved nature. She spent many hours walking the beaches of Chebeague Island, collecting sea glass. She watched for the arrival of Baltimore orioles in the springtime, enjoyed the sight and sounds of the loons on Raymond Pond, loved the autumn in Rangeley.
Bev was a dedicated and generous wife and mother. Her creative talents made a welcoming home for all. She took enormous pride in her children, and was so very proud of her two granddaughters who were the loves of her life.
Even until the end, Bev was filled with laughter and love. Her 14-year struggle did nothing to tarnish her appreciation for a good pun.
In addition to her husband, Theron, of 47 years, she leaves a daughter, Kimberly A. Hamilton and her husband, Holden Basch, of New York City; and a son, Andrew T. Hamilton, his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters, Jessica Leigh and Julia Ann, of Cumberland. Her family also includes her sister, Laura Winslow and husband, Ernest, of Lafayette, Calif.; her sister, Eleanor Thompson and husband, Lloyd of Raymond; and her sister, Florence Whittemore and husband, Sam of Yarmouth. She is also loved by many wonderful nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, May 24, at Lindquist Funeral Home in Yarmouth. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
