The Chebeague Island School's garden is thriving this summer. July 19th, 2006, our
intern, Jay Cox-Chapman, worked with Evan and Noah; they banked the
potato plants, planted more beets, weeded, and watered; and they harvested
Rainbow Chard (which was delivered to the Island Commons). Jay will be
calling CIS kids as the days progress, but if your child would like to
participate, call Jay at 5037.

New Firetruck

New CTC boat - Pied Piper was built in 1991 by Arro Yachts in Arundel, Maine. The vessel was constructed as a commercial vessel for coastal waters and is similar in size to the Islander. Twin 375 H.P. Detroit Diesel Engines propel her and the hull is of cored fiberglass. The Pied Piper is headed up the river for modifications and when she's ready in the spring there will be a "Open Boat Event" to welcome her to Chebeague.

I haven't added any pictures for a while and thought these would be a good Spring warmup group. Polly Wentling and Helene Kelley weren't able to be here for the Polar Plunge in February but managed to get together quite a few pledges anyway so they took their plunge on April 15 instead and we are very proud of their accomplishment. The water is still verrrrry cooooold!
