 CIYC and CICSS News:

The official season is now ended for both organizations. It's always a sad time to see the summer end, but next year is not far away!

The Chebeague Island Community Sailing School finished a great year; lots of sailing in spite of this summer's rather erratic weather patterns; great instruction; good fun; and, lots of learning! We hope to add two JY-15's to the fleet next year, to insure that all students who want to join us have a spot in the classes. If you would like to contribute, please contact Bob Earnest at bob324@chebeague.net.

Special thanks to Barbara Marks, Bobby Marsee, Isaac Julian, Toby Lunt, Jay Cox-Chapman, and Duncan McGovern all of whom, as instructors, made the great year possible. Thanks to all the students for attending and for being such great kids! And thanks to the parents who helped out during our week of duty at Chedemption, which contributes a tidy sum each year to Island organizations, including the Sailing School.

The Yacht Club continued its efforts to get more people involved in more kinds of activities. Saturday racing numbers were up from the last few years. The "power" lunches and dinners ("power" refers to how we get to where we're going, not the other kind of power lunch) were very well attended; we visited some new places and some old favorites. Thanks to all who organized this variety of activities and events. If you would like to get involved, or if you have questions, please contact Charles Marks at markses3@netscape.net or John Holt at ciycroster@yahoo.com.
