Christy Willardsen Kirkwood

Christy Willardsen Kirkwood 1955 ~ 2006 Our talented and beautiful daughter was killed in a tragic accident by a reckless driver passing in the bike lane. She was thrown 200 feet.

She was born August 21, 1955 to Monte J and Sandra B Willardsen. She graduated from Highland High School, and attended the University of Utah. Christy taught 7th & 8th grade Science and P.E. in Fountain Valley California.

She was the representative for Utah in the 1980 Winter Olympics relay torch team. She received the flame from Greece in Virginia and carried it in five mile increments to Lake Placid.

She was a leader-educator for the girls "Trail Angel" bike club.

She is survived by her husband Christopher and son Corey Kirkwood, her parents, sister Debra W Fenstermaker, brother Monte C. Willardsen, brother-in-law Brent Fenstermaker, and sister-in-law Angela Willardsen; two nieces, Lacey and Carly, and one nephew Dylan.

Services will be Sunday Dec. 10 in Newport Beach. A memorial will be held in Salt Lake City Saturday December 16th at the Larkin Chapel, 260 East South Temple. Come and visit at 11a.m. The memorial will begin at 12 noon.

Christy supported Mission Wolves in Colorado, and "Share", an organization to maintain bike trails.
