Weatherblur Bycatch Investigation
October 1, 2013

The Chebeague Island School citizen scientists started off their bycatch investigation with two special traps approved by the Department of Marine Resources to study how the bycatch changes with variables. Jeff Putnam has volunteered to haul and record one of the traps and the school will haul the other. There is a VEMCO Minilog submersible temperature data logger in each trap. We will be recording our data on the Weatherblur website. Each of the students have created an avatar and name and are listed under the students on the website. This is just starting up and there will be a number of island schools participating from Maine and Alaska. Click on the website below and check it out.
