Frederick 'Ricky' G. Lyons III, 56

Frederick "Ricky" G. Lyons III, 56, of Long Wharf at Dimillo's Marina died
Saturday.

He was born here, a son of Frederick G. and Alice Hale Lyons II, and attended
schools in Richmond and Chicago, graduating from South Portland High School.
He also graduated from Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute's culinary
arts program

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Lyons was a commercial fisherman and had operated the "Pamala"cq and the
"Elizabeth D." He had owned "Michele Ann," the "Michael L." and his current
boat, "The Jumpin Jessica," which was also his home.

On the waterfront he was known as "Flat Fish Freddie."

Surviving are two daughters, Michele Cote of Derry, N.H., and Jessica Hogness
of Rapid City, S.D.; a son, Michael D. of South Portland; a sister, Susanne
Paulson of Belview, Wash.; two half sisters, April Brackett of Florida and Mia
Whitney of Gray; his stepmother, Connie Lyons; and one grandson.

There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday
at Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodfords St.
