Mabel D. Campbell

 

Mabel D. Campbell, 74 of South Road on Chebeague Island, died Sunday at her home after a lengthy illness.

A lifelong resident of the island, she was a daughter of Sidney and Venora Westman Doughty, and attended former Chebeague High School.

Relatives and friends described Mrs. Campbell as a loving homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed bringing up her children and especially loved being a grandmother.

Her husband, Earl K. "Roary" Campbell, died Nov. 23, 1996.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth D. of Yarmouth and David T. Campbell of Chebeague Island; two brothers, Lawson of West Cumberland and Wesley Doughty of Chebeague Island; two sisters, Marlene Bowen of Chebeague Island and Katherine Morrill of South Portland; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at 1;30 p.m. Wednesday in Chebeague Island Cemetery with he Rev. Mervin E. Chadbourne officiating. Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home, Yarmouth.
