Robert Andrew Muniak, 63, affectionately known as 'Granddad' to many, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004.
Though his work has taken him from New Jersey to Connecticut and to Australia and back again, Bob's home and his heart is in Maine, where he was soon planning to retire on Chebeague Island.
He was a kind and generous man with many interests. An avid 'car junkie', Bob always had some kind of project under way; an old Mustang, a Triumph, maybe a motorcycle here or there. Whatever it was, Bob always had something on the burner. He was a great lover of music, he loved to tinker with stereo equipment, camera's, computers, anything to keep himself and his mind active. If it was broken, Bob was determined to fix it. He admired his friends and the feeling was mutual. He will be missed and loved forever.
Surviving are his daughters, Sandra Birkett of Chebeague Island, and Susan Muniak of Freeport; a brother, Andrew Muniak; and sisters, Marion Narsavage, and Pat Falk.
There will be a service of remembrance on Sunday Jan. 11, at 1 p.m. at the Chebeague Island Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
