Reinhardt “Reinie” J. Gallipeau

ATKINSON – Reinhardt “Reinie” J. Gallipeau, 70, of Atkinson, and formerly of Plaistow, died peacefully on March 26 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Haverhill, MA, son of the late Reinhardt F. “Frank” and Eleanor (Felker) Gallipeau, he attended Haverhill High School, graduating with the Class of 1957, and completed Engineering courses at the Raytheon Company in North Andover, MA where he worked as a Draftsman and Engineer from 1957 until his retirement in 1995, and most recently for Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow, for thirteen years.

Reinie was a member of the Atkinson Congregational Church and the Country Pond Fish & Game Club in Newton where he was a past member of the Board of Directors. He established and ran an archery league and was a member of the Traders Bowling League.

He enjoyed his summer home on Country Pond, hunting, fishing, spending summers on Chebeague Island for the past forty years and traveling to St. John’s in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Janice (Blomquist) Gallipeau, a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Vicki Gallipeau of Hampstead and their three children, Kimberly, Amy and Mark; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Susan Gallipeau of Florida; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Miriam and Raymond Chevalier of East Kingston, Sheila and John DeSimone of Plaistow and Deborah and Robert Caron of East Kingston; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Blomquist of Plaistow; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours were held on March 30 at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home in Plaistow. The funeral was held on March 31 at Atkinson Congregational Church followed by burial in Atkinson Cemetery.
