Deborah Knight Moulton

deborahNORWAY – Deborah Knight Moulton, 75, of Norway, Maine, died on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Bolster Heights Residential Care in Auburn. She was born October 4, 1947 to Miriam A. Moulton and John K. Moulton. She was raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts and summered on Chebeague Island, Maine with her parents and sister, Miriam Moulton.

She attended University of Southern Maine in Gorham. After her father retired, she lived with her parents on Cousins Island. While there she developed a passion for weaving. She was a master weaver, creating scarves, rugs and blankets, and also spinning her own wool.

Later, as an adult, she summered on Chebeague Island with her nieces and nephews who loved spending time with their creative, barefoot, hippie aunt.

In 2003 she bought her dream house, a historic farmhouse in Norway. She continued her passion for weaving, joining a local weavers guild. She also began her love of Italian Greyhounds. Through an online chat group, she met other people from all over the world who were also passionate about Italian Greyhounds. She remained close with many of those friends throughout the rest of her life. Her first Italian Greyhounds were Elf and Meg. Through them, she became involved in agility and amateur racing all over New England. She owned a total of 10 Italian Greyhounds in the past 20 years.

She is survived by her nephews, David Tyler and John Tyler; and her nieces, Debby Tyler and Katie Tyler. She was predeceased by her sister and parents.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Bolster Heights for the kind, thoughtful and dedicated care they gave to Deborah. A graveside service will be held in the spring on Cousins Island.
