Hall, Lois Dow

Lois Dow Hall, 75 CAPE ELIZABETH -- Lois Dow Hall, 75, passed away on Nov. 27, 2008, at her residence from complications related to prolonged health issues. Lois was born in Portland in November, 1933 to Martha and Edgar Dow. She grew up on Washington Avenue and attended Portland High School. She graduated in 1951 and worked for New England Telephone Company. She met Richard H. Hall and they were married in July, 1960.

Lois was a warm, loving and hard working woman. She was generous of her time and devoted herself to family, church and community. She was actively involved in the garden club, a member of Center Board Yacht Club and active alumni of Portland High School. As a mom, all the neighborhood kids were always at the Hall's playing baseball in the front yard, and that's the way she liked it. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Lois also liked to travel and went on 16 cruises in her lifetime.

Survivors include her three children, David D. Hall, Stacey B. Bean and Matthew Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Amber and Allie Bean; and one grandson, Joshua Phillips.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, at the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church, 280 Ocean House Rd., followed by a reception at the Hobbs Funeral Home Hospitality Center, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland. Arrangements are by the Hobbs Funeral Home, South Portland.
