BROSSEAU, Katharine H. nee Heintzelman, 87 of Fort Lauderdale,
Florida died June 17, 2008 in Webster, Texas following an extended
illness. Katharine was born May 3, 1921 in Laurel
Springs, New Jersey, the daughter of George Elmer Heintzelman
and Katharine Miller. She graduated from Collingswood
High School class of 1938 and attended the University of Pennsylvania
in the field of Bookkeeping and Accounting. Katharine
was married to Orville E. Brosseau on March 14, 1947. Katharine
was Orville's helpmeet in every way helping him run his business
and his home and raise his children as well as take care of his
health.
Mrs. Brosseau was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Fort
Lauderdale. Her memberships include AARP as a director; Fort
Lauderdale Chapter #59 Order of the Eastern Star; PWOP
of the Judea Chapter of the Order of the White Shrine, Lake Worth,
Florida; Past member of the Ladies of the Oriental
Shrine, Fort Lauderdale. Katharine was a tireless
worker in the Masonic Affiliated organizations and was an
active officer until recent years. She enjoyed crocheting for
her family and friends. She offered her handmade items as fund
raisers for the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital in Tampa,
Florida. Her hobbies included card games and jigsaw
puzzles and visiting her grandchildren.
Mrs. Brosseau was preceded in death by her husband, Orville on
December 14, 1989. She is survived by her children,
George O. and Karen Brosseau of League City, Texas, Gerald
R. and Ellen Brosseau of Derby, Vermont and Gisele B. and Jim
Phipps of Chebeague Island, Maine. Katharine was proud
of her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Katharine
was always there for her family, helping and supporting them in
every way possible.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 11:00
AM in the Kevin E. Hunsicker Funeral Home chapel with Pastor David
Hess of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Friends
may call two hours prior to service beginning at 9:00 AM with
a White Shrine service to be held at 10:45 AM. Burial
will follow in Slatedale Cemetery, Slatedale, Pennsylvania.
