Beverly Calder Dyer, 88

CHEBEAGUE ISLAND - Beverly Calder Dyer, 88, passed away peacefully at the Island Commons, surrounded by family, on Monday, March 19, 2018. She was the wife of Robert A. Dyer Sr.

She was born on Chebeague Island, Nov. 6, 1929, the daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Hamilton) Calder. Beverly attended and graduated from the Chebeague Island Schools in 1948.

Beverly married the love of her life on Jan. 20, 1949. They spent 69 years together raising their children and having their grandchildren come into their lives. She was a wonderful cook, knitter, quilter and historian of the family. She also was a member of the Ladies Aid.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Robert A. Dyer Jr. (Debra), of Florida; Wayne C. Dyer (Arlene), of Chebeague; Susan D. Campbell (David), of Chebeague; Mark H. Dyer (Elizabeth), of Chebeague; and Kristen D. Buxbaum (Donald), of Chebeague. She also leaves her grandchildren, Heather, Curtis and Brooke Buxbaum; Amanda Campbell; and Chloe and Genevieve Dyer; as well as a brother, Richard Calder (Dianne), of Chebeague; a sister, Genevieve Carter, of Fairfield; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Chesley, John, Norman, Leona, Mary and Elizabeth.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Island Commons, Crew of CTC, Chebeague Island Rescue, and special thanks to Ginny Ballard for all her time and care.
