Dana was born in Chanute on August 1, 1961, the daughter of Jimmy Joe and Linda Ringle Pierce. She graduated from Altamont High School and then from Labette Community College.
She was united in marriage to Mark Gwillim on Feb. 12, 1992 at St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. He survives, of the home.
Dana was a homemaker.
Along with her husband Mark, she is survived by two sons, Josh Gwillim, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tyler Gwillim, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Alexandra Gwillim, Chanute; her parents, Jimmy Joe Pierce and Linda Hedrick; and four sisters, Gina, Lori, Tina and Deborah.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda.
Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 11 at the Harmony Cemetery, Dennis. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church.
Memorials in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left with the funeral home.
