1906-2004
MONSON - Beatrice Kendall, 98, of Monson and Chebeague Island, died peacefully at home Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004.
She was born in Brockton, Mass., May 12, 1906, the daughter of Della (Hamilton) York and Eben Ring York.
She moved to Portland where she raised her family and worked at WCSH radio and TV. for 49 years.
She spent summers on Chebeague Island at her beloved family home, where she was proud to have a clamming license until age 97.
She graduated from Portland High School and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She was devoted to her husband, Lewis, who predeceased her.
She is survived by daughters, Anne K. Holmbom and Joan K. Deming, and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
There will be a family memorial service in the summer on Chebeague.
