ROAD RACES

Rob Craig wins, Libby Marshal first woman at Annual 4th of July Road Race

Rob Craig finished first out of 39 runners in the 22nd Chebeague Island 4th
of July Road Race.
His winning time was 24 minutes , 24 seconds for the 4.2 mile course. Second place went to last year's winner Chris Towel at 27:37. Third Place was taken by __________________.

Libby Marshal was the first place woman for the eighth consecutive year. Carolyn Lynch was second and Nancy Earnest third.

The one mile Fun Run was won by Elliot Bradbury for the boys in 10:09 and Marissa Potter for the Girls in 11:39.

Men 1st under 14 Mark Hilly
Men 1st over 40 Rob Craig
Men 1st over 50 Ray Shevnell

Women 1st over 40 Kathy Melkonian Brown

This year marked Ray Shevnell's 21st consecutive year completing the race.

The race is run under the auspices of the Chebeague Island Council. Beth and Michael Grunko would like the thank Jeannette and Ken Hamilton and Leila Bisharat for providing water for the runners and Ann Trower and host of would-be spectators for volunteering on the spot to help at the finish line.
