An Important Community Message:

Dear Chebeague Island,

Now more than ever is the time to extend a hand to your neighbors in our wonderful Island community. On behalf of the Chebeague Methodist Church Food Pantry, we are reaching out to ask for donations to help us stock up on necessary staples for those in our community who may not be able to safely leave our Island during this COVID-19 critical period, and for those in our community who perhaps need a little extra help as our schools and businesses temporarily shut-down.
Because of all of You, throughout the year, we are able to supplement with groceries and household essentials to those in need, and this will be especially important during the next couple months, as we all learn, together, how to best to navigate life during a national crisis such as this.

Here is a short list of grocery items that are useful; Reminder: when possible, low/no sugar, sodium options are best:

-frozen turkey breast
-frozen meatballs
-frozen vegetables
-onions
-potatoes
-broth
-pasta & sauce
-apple sauce
-shelf stable milk
-taco kits
-oatmeal
-rice
-flour & yeast
-whole wheat bread w/o seeds
-veggie oil (small containers)
-butter
-canned soups (chicken with rice, chicken noodle, veggie)
-quick mixes for bread, cakes, cookies
-crackers (saltines, graham)
-canned fish (tuna & sardines)
-hydration fluids (pedialyte, gatorade)
-condiments (mayo, mustard & ketchup)
-paper products
-laundry detergent (small containers)
-dish soap (small containers)
-freshies when possible
