Following on the heels of the School Committee's excellent meeting Saturday morning on "Charting our (School's) Future", the Community Forum's second gathering will be held next Monday, March 11th, 6 PM at the Hall. All are invited. The format will be a pizza party, with child care for all ages provided. Bring a salad if you like to share with other attendees.
All Chebeague residents want an excellent school and we have one. Now the challenge, given the decline in our young family cohort and with it the decline in our birth rate, is sustaining school enrollment. This means continuing to attract young families to locate on our special island, a key objective of the Community Forum. An important topic at this meeting will be developing a vision statement for Chebeague.
Rob Snyder of the Island Institute will again join us to facilitate the meeting.
