On Saturday, July 5, 2008, the board of the Tracy Walker Howell Memorial Fund will host a reception at the Chebeague Island Library from 4-5 pm to commemorate the fund's first project: a children's book fund.  The fund will be used to acquire award winning children’s books for the Chebeague Island Library’s collection.  The Tracy Walker Howell Memorial Fund was established in 2007 to honor Tracy Walker Howell, a long time summer resident of Chebeague Island.  The fund’s mission is to promote literature as a positive social force in the community.  Anyone wishing to contribute to the Tracy Walker Howell Memorial Fund should contact Marcia Howell at mlhowell@gwi.net.
