TOWN OF CUMBERLAND
HARBOR MASTER/RESERVE OFFICER

The Cumberland Harbor Master/Reserve Police Officer is responsible for law enforcement activities related to public docking areas, watercraft, mooring permits and duties as prescribed by the Shellfish Conservation Ordinance. This person will serve as staff liaison to several boards/committees related to shellfish resources and coastal waters, and will report to the Police Chief, with duties performed predominantly on Chebeague Island, including the supervision/oversight of the Stone Wharf Pier and staff. This position is a full-time equivalent, with approximately 75% of the total year-round working hours occurring during the months of May through September. This position is covered by the town's generous benefit package. Starting salary is set at $27,000. Interested candidates will be required to successfully complete a comprehensive background examination, polygraph test, psychological test and alert test for admission to pre-law enforcement training. Experience in shellfish management and the operation of a watercraft are required.
