Dear Carla,

Greetings from Chebeague Island! Please find the revised Site Plan Review Application and other documents pertaining to the Slow Bell Café, of Chebeague Island, Maine.

On May 18th, 2004, I request to appear before the Cumberland Planning Board and complete the Site Plan Review process.

The Café will be a full menu, table service restaurant with take out. The Full menu will include a hearty breakfast menu, with fresh brewed coffee, home made donuts, and a special family pancake recipe commencing at 05:30 AM. Lunch and dinner will be served from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, May through October. Seafood: lobster, steamed/fried clams, crab rolls, and home made Lime-Ricky's will compliment a menu designed to satisfy the appetite of island residents and visitors alike. Beer, wine and liquor will be available to sit down patrons in the dining room. Seating for 40 Patrons has been established, utilizing the pre-existing, Town and State approved septic system indicated on the Site Plan. An enlarged outside deck is proposed, to facilitate better access to the building, and allow patrons the view of the surrounding forest and farmland.

The kitchen will be equipped with commercial cooking equipment, with all necessary exhaust and fire extinguishing safe guards in place. The existing smoke detection system will be updated to reflect the Cumberland Fire Chief's recommendations.

The Slow Bell Café would like to display a sign on the existing posts used by the former Nellie G Café. Soft landscaping lights would illuminate both the sign and landscaped areas around the building.

The Slow Bell Café is located in the Island Business Commercial Zone of Chebeague Island. Significant forested areas exist on all sides of the building, and parking areas.

I hope to make a positive impact on the island, and provide high quality service for many years to come. The long-term goal is to fulfill many aspects of Chebeague Island's Long Term Plan; operate a family owned business on the island, raise an island family, and participate in the Island Community to the fullest extent possible.

Sincerely,

Jonathan KomLosy
