Sherman Rich's Boat

For the last few years Sherman Rich has spent his spare time building a boat in his shop on Chebeague Island. Yesterday he finally moved it out into the sunlight. This Carroll Lowell design wooden boat is incredibly beautiful and shows superb craftsmanship. Sherman should be so proud of his accomplishment. The lobster boat is 40' long with a 13 1/2 foot beam and a 4' 4" draft. It is powered with a 3208 320 Caterpillar deisel. He recently cut out the stern but has built in a sleeve so that it may be put back in when needed. The boat will be named for his wife KelleyAnne. They are also expecting their first child in July.
