Elizabeth Wadsworth Chapter, DAR Awards Program for the American History Essay Contest came to Chebeague to honor and celebrate the essays that were written by the 5th grade students. The subject was "A Colonial FAmily's Reaction to the Stamp Act." All five of the students did a wonderful job and I'm sure that it was very hard to choose from hundreds of entries. Joquin Bonneville came in 3rd in the State and 1st in the chapter. Cooper Israel came in 2nd in chapter and Kyla Sawtelle 3rd in the chapter. Each student received a certificate, a comemorative plate, a flag and more. All the students received a gift packet from the Chapter. Thank you to Kristin and Tina Runge who is also a member of the DAR chapter.
