Dear Parents,

I am an ETEP intern in your children's classroom. ETEP is the Extended Teacher Education Program through University of Southern Maine. It is designed for people who already have a degree but need a teaching certificate. At the end of the program, I will have a certificate and be well on the way to finishing a Masters degree. I am excited and look forward to working with Andrea Powell, Pat McGillicuddy, and your children.

I live in Bremen, Maine, which is in the midcoast region near Damariscotta/Newcastle. My background is in art. I have taught art for the past twelve years in after-school programs and at Round Top Center for the Arts during the summer. I have worked as an Ed Tech for the past three years in Damariscotta at Great Salt Bay Community school, as well as the Maine School of Science and Mathematics camp for boys last summer. I have lived all over, including Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Rhode Island, and Australia. My family came to Maine four years ago because my husband is working on the aquaculture techniques for sea urchins. I have two children, ages 9 and 12, both boys.

I look forward to meeting all of you, working with your children this semester, and learning a lot!

Sincerely,

Laura Devin
