AZTEC - MAYA - INCA
COMICS

The students produced comics based on the Aztec, Maya and Incan cultures.

The comics depict the life and times of the Aztec, Maya and Incan people. Humor is of course a positive attribute in a comic, but not all comics need to be "funny". For example, political cartoons are often serious.

The information for each comic came from:

  • student reading and research (books, encyclopedias, internet)
  • teacher-read books and overhead transparencies
  • notes taken by the students

Each student produced one comic for each "Component of Culture" listed below:

  • Technology - tools, weapons, craft workers, etc.
  • Recreation - sports & games
  • Beliefs - religion (temples, sacrifices, rituals, myths, legends, holidays, etc.)
  • Shelter/Housing
  • Food - farming, hunting, fishing
  • Warfare and Protection
  • Economy - trade, jobs, money, etc.
  • Education - schooling, reading, writing

The following comic has nothing to do with Latin America and its ancestors but is a fun one about life in America today:
