Dear Friends and Family,

What a tragic day for our community. We are reeling from this loss, we are wondering how to talk about and make sense of the pain, how to support the Robinson and Doughty families and how to say goodbye to sweet William. As a mental health counselor I talk about unexpected often, and it is never easy, but it is real. People around us are fighting silent battles everyday that we know little about. I know from personal experience and from the work that I do that talking helps, it truly does. If you are struggling and if you are in pain, please know there are amazing resources for you on this very island and in our larger mainland community as well as a wealth of information on the Internet.

I want to invite anyone that is struggling to talk to me ~ as a community member or as a trained professional in mental health, I offer my support. I also can refer you to counselors and resources on the mainland. I will be available for individual drop in sessions on island Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings. Please contact me here or at sarahmckinnon@chebeague.net.

With kindness and appreciation,

Sarah McKinnon, LCPC-C
