Swan's Island Library Needs Help
The Swans Island Library and
Historical Society building was burned to the ground after being struck by
lightning. A temporary library has
been set up at the Town Office. Director
Candis Joyce is facing the huge task of rebuilding from the ground up.

FREE BORROWING CARD BOOKS AND AUDIO TAPES: two-week loans. OVERDUE FINES: Books, 5¢ per day. Videos, 25¢ per day. COPIER RATES: 15¢ per page up to 20 copies, 10¢ per page for over 20 copies. 11 x 17 copies are 25¢ each. Color copies are 30¢ each. FAX MACHINE: Our machine is operational 24 hours a day on an independent line, 846-4358. The fee is $1.00 per page, $3.00 for outgoing beyond North America INTER-LIBRARY LOAN: We can order books from other libraries. We ask for $2.00 per book to cover mailing costs. SPECIAL COLLECTIONS: We have notebooks of
photographs, HOUSE RENTAL LIST: This can be obtained by emailing your

sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to ISLAND PHONE DIRECTORY: The Library publishes the phone book every other year and puts updates in the monthly Calendar. Please send any changes to the Library. Directories available for $10.00. HOMEWORK SUPPLY BOX: Students have access to notebook paper, construction paper, graph paper, markers, colored pencils, poster board, and other homework supplies. COLLEGE INFORMATION: We have college guides, financial aid info, FAFSA forms and scholarship info. OFFICE SUNDRIES FOR LIBRARY ITEMS FOR OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE: Books, cookbooks, note cards, bumper stickers, license plates and place mats from various Island organizations. |
