East End Wetland
Chebeague Island - Summer 2012


This summer I discovered a wonderful bird area right on the East End of Chebeague. You can walk just off the road and see and hear so many different species of birds and I have listed below all that I saw and heard along with other birders including Stephen Johnson, Scott Johnson, Darlene Eyster, Nancy Cline and Cameron Todd. All of the photos below were taken in the area of this wetland in July and begining of August .
Birds seen and heard: Mallards, Red-winged Blackbirds, Gray Catbirds, Cedar Waxwings, Eastern Phoebes, Pileated Woodpeckers, Mourning Doves, Barn Swallows, Eastern Kingbird, Bluejays, Song Sparrows, American Goldfinches, Common Yellowthroats, Yellow Warblers, Pine Warblers, American Crows, House Finches, Redstarts, European Starlings, Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, Baltimore Orioles, Herring Gulls, Common Grackles, Brown-headed Cowbirds, American Robins, Brown Thrashers, White-breasted Nuthatches
