2011 - 2012 School Budget Passes at Town Meeting and at Referendum.

All eleven warrants that made up the 2011 - 2012 School Budget for the Chebeague Island School Department passed at Town Meeting on Saturday, June 4. On Tuesday, June 7, the Budget passed again by referendum by a vote of 90 to 52. In addition, the vote on whether to have the yearly polls referendum vote was yes 52 and no 81.

In the News

As part of their unit on Immigration, the first - fifth grade students went on a field trip to the Falmouth Middle School, on Thursday, February 10, to watch a naturalization ceremony. They watched as 33 immigrants became American citizens. A reporter from the Portland Press Herald was there and interviewed the teachers. The article is titled, This is My Country Now. New Food Service Director and Custodian

We are very happy to announce that Laura Summa has been hired as our new Food Service Director and Custodian! Welcome, Laura!

It's Yarmouth!

At their meeting on February 16, the School Committee voted not to renew the contract with MSAD#51 when the current tuition contract ends in 2014. They voted instead to make the Yarmouth School Department our new partner in educating Chebeague Island's middle and high school students.
