Installations continue and we hope to complete as many as possible
before weather becomes and issue. The priority for installations will be as follows:
1. Investors in chebeague.net
2. Customers who pre-pay their installation fees
3. All others
Naturally, the installations are dependent upon the signal being available at the subscriber's home, which may not be until we've made installations that can "chain" to other homes.
Also, we have to have the necessary equipment on hand to make a proper
installation. We sometimes have to wait for equipment deliveries.
We began taking orders at the public meeting on August 21, 2006. Installations will be performed in the order of the receipt of requests, grouped by priority as defined above.
We'll take e-mail orders at the address above. We will contact you to arrange a time to come to your home to determine installation feasibility and timetable. It would be a good idea to follow up the e-mail with a call to (207) 846-4850, or just call us at that number and leave a message if we're not available.
Your order on the list is totally dependent upon our ability to deliver signal to you! There may be a delay as we build out the system to accommodate everybody.
PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee that everyone on the Island will be able to receive Internet service! We will do everything possible to deliver the signal to your home, but we may need to erect another antenna to reach parts of the Island. We won't know this until we are actually in the field, trying locations, and measuring the signal.
After we have confirmed that we can deliver Internet service to your home or business, we will schedule a time to make the installation. At that time, you will be asked to sign an agreement, which is a standard description of service to be provided and mutual obligations.
We do intend to provide the best service possible to the Island and, with your help and support, we can make it happen!
