BOARD OF SELECTMAN TO MEET ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1st FOR
APPOINTMENTS: The Board of Selectman will meet in Executive
Session for the purposes of considering appointments to the Planning
Board, the Board of Adjustment & Appeals, the Coastal Waters
Commission and the Shellfish Conservation Committee.
BULKY WASTE IS THIS WEEK-END AUGUST 4 & 5: Attached
to this update is a list of what you can bring to throw away.
Please note any household appliances must have the Freon removed!
HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION BY CLEAN HARBORS SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST
11, 2007: This is a contracted service with Clean Harbors
that occurs annually. Please do not confuse this waste collection
with "Bulky Waste" day on August 4th. On this day you
will be able to bring items such as fuel oils, oil paint, paint
thinner, antifreeze, acids, chemicals batteries of any type, Freon,
etc.
FISHING/HUNTING LICENSES AVAILABLE STARTING ON THURDAY AUGUST
2: Staff are trained and can now help you process
these licenses!
AUGUST SHELLFISH LICENSES: Will be available on a
first-come first-serve basis starting
Thursday, August 2, from 12 pm to 8 pm.
CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER BACK IN OFFICE ON MONDAY, AUGUST 6:
Paul White returns on Monday, August 6th. If you
have business that cannot wait till then please call the town
office (846-3148) and we will put you in touch with him.
NEW BOAT REGISTRATIONS: Please be sure to bring the
bill of sale to the Town of North Yarmouth who is temporarily
processing Chebeague boat registrations. They will collect Maine
sales tax. If you had a boat previously bring along the VIN number
from the old boat. Don't forget, you must come first to
the Chebeague Town office to pay your excise taxes!
NEW CAR REGISTRATIONS & TITLE TRANSFERS: Come
see Cheryl Buxbaum on Thursdays from 1-4 pm.
MOORING PERMITS: The Town of Cumberland will issue these
permits until 12-31-07.
