CHEBEAGUE TOWN OFFICE UPDATE

Town Office Closed on Monday, September 24, 2007: Both of our clerks will have to be away all day at separate training classes mandated by the state. As a result the office can only be open to those residents who have business or appointments with Town Administrator, Ron Grenier or Paul White, our Code Enforcement Officer.
Selectman to Solicit Citizen Interest In Serving on Additional Committees: At its workshop meeting of September 12, the selectman discussed the formation of three more new committees in the near future. These would include the Cemetery Committee, the Comprehensive Plan Committee, and a Finance Committee. Please be on the lookout for how and by when you can express your interest in any one of these committees.
Fall Turkey Permit News:
n Eligibility for New Fall Turkey Shotgun Permit -Maine residents 70 years of age and older that possess a lifetime license will be eligible for a complimentary Fall Turkey Permit starting on September 20, 2007. Just come see us.
n Other Hunters (non-lifetime holders) – You are required to obtain a fall turkey permit as well as a firearms license that allows the hunting of big game to participate in the turkey hunt!
n Superpack License – This includes a permit/license so that its holders are all set to hunt turkey with a shotgun in the fall without buying any additional licenses or permits.
n Pages 19 – 21 – These pages cover the laws of the hunt and should be closely read by hunters!
