Nancy Earnest - Pre School
Many years ago I had my first summer job with children as a playground leader. Loving children I followed it by seasons as a camp counselor, classroom volunteer, scout leader, tennis coach, museum curriculum coordinator, swim instructor, special education aide, five years teaching preschool, and most important—raising two children. Our daughter Holly and her husband live in San Francisco and our son Scott is also in the bay area attending school.
My post-secondary education began with a BA in Art from Davidson College in ‘78. Our daughter’s 2nd grade experience in a Montessori magnet school in 1992 sparked an interest in Montessori which drew me into the Montessori aide training for ages 6-9. Recently I completed my Early Childhood teacher certification through the American Montessori Society. I am also working through Maine’s Early Childhood Certification process.
Bob and I made the move to Chebeague in June of 2003. I serve as a volunteer fireperson and on the Historical Society Board. Summers I stay busy teaching swimming at the CRC and occasionally I find time for any one of my many hobbies: hiking, tennis, sewing, sailing, swimming, gardening, or reading. I am grateful for the opportunity to both live and work in this community.
