Dear Chebeague Island Community,
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support, participate in, and help make the 2023 Polar Plunge and Chili, Chowder, Soup Challenge a big success.
11 hardy individuals met at the Boatyard in 8 degree weather to take the Polar Plunge this year! After warming up by the fire, nearly 100 islanders headed to the Rec Center, and enjoyed an assortment of 20 delicious chilis, chowders, and soups all served by an enthusiastic group of volunteers. The CRC is thrilled that this classic fundraising event was able to come back in full swing. This event is a longstanding tradition that would not be possible without all of our cooks, servers, electricians (thanks to Ken Pelton), folks at the Boatyard, EMTs who stood by at the polar plunge, and the almost 100 community members who helped eat the delicious food.
Congrats to all our winners this year!
