Painting Islands: Uniting Community with Art
www.paintingislands.com

This project is funded in part by a grant from the Maine Arts Commission,
an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Please go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/chebeague
to choose the place you would like to see painted with light by artist Howie Motenko and the community. A group of citizens got together and came up with four places to choose from. See map below for locations.

1. The Nubble - Bennetts Cove
2. The Ovens
3. Bob Walker’s fishhouse on the shore below the Slow Bell
4. Coleman’s Cove from Sandy Point

Voting will end on Sunday, February 14th and then Howie will work out the logistics of taking an evening photo with the help of many community members with flashlights followed by a community gathering.

Islesford boathouses

This is the photo that was created on Islesford by Howie and many islanders.

Four year round islands have been done including Swans Island, Cranberry, and Isle au Haut. To see the photos from the other islands go to www.paintingislands.com

All proceeds from any of the work created will be donated to Island Institute and Maine Seacoast Mission.

You may also vote at the Chebeague Island Library at the front desk instead of online.
